Changelog
What's changed on this website, newest first.
All notable changes to the Little Sand Bay Villas website, newest first.
This site follows semantic versioning — MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH:
- MAJOR — a change that breaks an existing public URL or removes a page with no fallback.
- MINOR — a new page, feature, or content section.
- PATCH — copy edits, corrections, and small content additions.
Breaking changes to date: none. The one URL that has moved (/channel/ →
/video-store/) still works, because it ships a redirect.
1.16.1 — 2026-08-23
- Cleaned up the two scanned governing-document PDFs. The scanner had wrapped ordinary letter-size pages in enormous page boxes — the Declaration opened as a 46-by-71-inch sheet — so they now open at the size they were meant to be. Pages are straightened, and both PDFs now carry a text layer, so you can select and search the text in the PDF itself and not just on this site.
1.16.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added a Beach Groomer page under HOA Info with the treatment-area map and the public details of the association’s DNR aquatic plant management permit.
- Removed references to by-laws across the site. The recorded Declaration and its 2017 amendment are the association’s governing documents; there is no separate set of by-laws.
- Reworked Association Documents so the readable transcriptions are the main event and the PDFs sit alongside them.
- Added a PDF download for the Articles of Incorporation.
1.15.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added the association’s governing documents, supplied by Ben Corwin: the recorded 2011 Declaration (CIC No. 28), the 2017 First Amended Declaration, the First Amended CIC Plat, the Articles of Incorporation, and the abbreviated Association Rules.
- Each scanned document is now readable and searchable on the site as an OCR transcription, with the recorded PDF linked as the authoritative copy: /hoa/declaration/, /hoa/first-amended-declaration/, /hoa/articles-of-incorporation/, /hoa/rules/.
- Rewrote /hoa/documents/ as a real index of what’s available instead of a “coming soon” placeholder.
1.14.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added three restaurants to Around Town: Y Steakhouse in Park Rapids, Fozzie’s BBQ in Bemidji, and The Piggy Legendary BBQ in Walker.
1.13.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added the Thomas Dambo trolls to Around Town’s Day Trips, linking to Project 412’s own trail map for Detroit Lakes.
- Added the Bemidji Sculpture Walk to Around Town’s Day Trips and to the Bemidji entry on Location.
1.12.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added Baxter to the towns and landmarks list, and noted the big-box shopping in Bemidji (Walmart, Home Depot, Target) and Baxter (Best Buy and more).
- Added a Big Box Shopping section to Around Town with links to those stores.
- Added Sierra in Bemidji to Outdoors and Gear — budget outdoor gear and clothing.
1.11.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added a link to the Little Sand Lake Area Association on HOA Info, for anyone wanting to learn more about the lake association working to protect the lake.
1.10.3 — 2026-08-23
- Fixed the spelling of Zorbaz across the site (it had been written as “Zorba’s”).
- Updated the homepage’s description of summer life on the lake — swapped out a mention of walking into Dorset for dinner, since it’s a bit far to walk.
1.10.2 — 2026-08-23
- Links are blaze orange now instead of blue — much easier to pick out against the site’s greens, in the footer and in page text alike.
1.10.1 — 2026-08-23
- The footer now has a proper row of links — The Video Store, Add to Home Screen, and the Changelog (with the current version next to it) — set off on their own line so they’re easy to spot.
1.10.0 — 2026-08-23
- Removed the Board of Directors page.
/hoa/board/now goes to the Contact page. - The Contact page is email only. The association doesn’t receive mail at the property, so the postal address has been taken down and the page says as much.
1.9.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added this changelog, published at
/changelog/and linked from the footer. - Added a Minnesota DNR fire danger and burning restrictions link to HOA Info — worth checking before any fire.
1.8.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added a Trash & Recycling page under HOA Info: the shared dumpster, chaining the lid so bears can’t get into it (with a short video showing what that looks like), and where the Hubbard County transfer station is.
1.7.0 — 2026-08-23
- Renamed the video feed to The Video Store and moved it to
/video-store/. The old/channel/address still works.
1.6.1 — 2026-08-23
- Added a second video to the store: how to chain the dumpster shut.
1.6.0 — 2026-08-23
- The site is now installable as an app, and says so. A new Add This Site to Your Phone page pairs a short video walkthrough with written steps for iPhone, Android, and computers, and the homepage carries a call-out pointing at it.
- Added The Video Store — a swipeable feed of the association’s short videos. Ones you haven’t seen play first, and it remembers on your device.
- The board’s email address is now the association’s own Gmail account rather than a placeholder.
1.5.2 — 2026-08-23
- Added Jasper’s Jubilee Theater to Around Town — the live variety show a few minutes east on Highway 34.
1.5.1 — 2026-08-23
- Added Zorbaz and the Heartland Trail to the landmarks list, and noted the Thomas Dambo trolls under Detroit Lakes.
1.5.0 — 2026-08-23
- The Location page now features the towns and landmarks around us — Dorset, Nevis, Park Rapids, Walker, Itasca State Park, Detroit Lakes, and Bemidji — each with the drive time from the villas.
1.4.0 — 2026-08-23
- Added a Services section to Around Town, starting with KUB Custom PC in Park Rapids.
- Filled out the Muskie Waters Co. listing to mention the gift shop alongside the coffee and ice cream.
1.3.0 — 2026-08-22
- The site moved to its own address: littlesandbayvillas.com.
1.2.0 — 2026-08-22
- Added the Around Town page — local restaurants, treats, groceries, outdoor gear, and day trips.
1.1.2 — 2026-07-18
- The header shrinks once you scroll on a phone, so more of the page is visible.
1.1.1 — 2026-07-12
- Restyled the shield logo (articulated pine and loon) and sized it up for the header.
1.1.0 — 2026-07-11
- Added the association’s badge logo, based on the carved pine sign at the entrance.
- The site became installable as a home-screen app, with its own icons and a hidden 🌲 in the footer explaining how.
1.0.0 — 2026-07-11
- First public version of the Little Sand Bay Villas website: home, location, contact, and an HOA Info section with association documents, community vendors, and how to reach the board.
- Built as a static site that rebuilds and publishes itself whenever content changes.
