This site follows semantic versioning — MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH:

  • MAJOR — a change that breaks an existing public URL or removes a page with no fallback.
  • MINOR — a new page, feature, or content section.
  • PATCH — copy edits, corrections, and small content additions.

Breaking changes to date: none. The one URL that has moved (/channel/ → /video-store/) still works, because it ships a redirect.

1.20.0 — 2026-09-15

  • New Water Shut-Offs page under HOA Info, covering when to turn the water off, how to check it’s really off, and how to turn it back on gently.
  • A new short video shows how to work the shut-off valves. It plays on the page and is on the shelf at the Video Store.

  • New Apparel & Printing page under HOA Info, for anyone who wants shirts, hats, or stickers with the association’s logo on them.
  • The logo is now downloadable as SVG, PDF, or PNG, with a transparent background and ready to hand to a print shop.
  • Added a one-color version of the logo with the scene cut out, so the shirt shows through. One ink is the cheapest way to screen print, and it also works for vinyl and embroidery. It comes in black and in white for dark shirts.
  • The page covers which file suits which kind of printing, what to ask the shop, and why it pays to go in on a group order.

  • Presentations is now a section of the site, in the menu next to HOA Info. Owners meet twice a year, so the slides from those meetings have a home rather than living at a one-off address.
  • The fall 2026 deck about this website is the first one, at /presentations/2026-fall/. Its old address, /presentation/, still works and sends you to the new one.
  • Each deck now carries its season and year, and the section lists them newest first — so next spring’s simply appears alongside this one.
  • Added a way out of a deck: the corner ×, or Esc.

  • Removed a line from the presentation that referred to a building key. The site does not discuss locks, keys, or who holds them — that was the presentation’s own stated policy two slides earlier, so it should not have been there.

  • Added a presentation view at /presentation/ — a full-screen slideshow for walking the association through this site at a meeting. Arrow keys, space, or taps move between slides; F goes full screen. It is not in the menu and search engines are asked to skip it: it is a tool for presenting, not a page to browse.
  • Slides are written as ordinary front matter, like every other page here, so the deck is edited the same way the rest of the site is.

  • The vendor list now has a phone column, so you can call straight from your phone: Schmitty’s Dock & Lift, Northern Pines, and Kountry Kare Septic. Itasca-Mantrap’s number is listed under Utilities too.
  • Northern Pines is listed under its current name — Northern Pines Plumbing, Heating and Electric.
  • Still looking for a good number for the lawn care and insect spraying crews. If you have one, send it along.

  • Cleaned up the two scanned governing-document PDFs. The scanner had wrapped ordinary letter-size pages in enormous page boxes — the Declaration opened as a 46-by-71-inch sheet — so they now open at the size they were meant to be. Pages are straightened, and both PDFs now carry a text layer, so you can select and search the text in the PDF itself and not just on this site.

  • Added a Beach Groomer page under HOA Info with the treatment-area map and the public details of the association’s DNR aquatic plant management permit.
  • Removed references to by-laws across the site. The recorded Declaration and its 2017 amendment are the association’s governing documents; there is no separate set of by-laws.
  • Reworked Association Documents so the readable transcriptions are the main event and the PDFs sit alongside them.
  • Added a PDF download for the Articles of Incorporation.

  • Added the association’s governing documents, supplied by Ben Corwin: the recorded 2011 Declaration (CIC No. 28), the 2017 First Amended Declaration, the First Amended CIC Plat, the Articles of Incorporation, and the abbreviated Association Rules.
  • Each scanned document is now readable and searchable on the site as an OCR transcription, with the recorded PDF linked as the authoritative copy: /hoa/declaration/, /hoa/first-amended-declaration/, /hoa/articles-of-incorporation/, /hoa/rules/.
  • Rewrote /hoa/documents/ as a real index of what’s available instead of a “coming soon” placeholder.

  • Added three restaurants to Around Town: Y Steakhouse in Park Rapids, Fozzie’s BBQ in Bemidji, and The Piggy Legendary BBQ in Walker.

  • Fixed the spelling of Zorbaz across the site (it had been written as “Zorba’s”).
  • Updated the homepage’s description of summer life on the lake — swapped out a mention of walking into Dorset for dinner, since it’s a bit far to walk.

  • The Contact page is email only. The association doesn’t receive mail at the property, so the postal address has been taken down and the page says as much.
