Full-color Little Sand Bay Villas shield: a pine and a loon on the lake at sunset

Full color

The logo as it appears on this site. For full-color printing, like DTG and DTF shirts, stickers, and mugs.

SVG PDF PNG

One-color Little Sand Bay Villas shield in black, with the scene cut out

One color

A single ink with the scene cut out, so the shirt shows through. It's the cheapest to screen print and the one to use for vinyl or embroidery.

The same one-color shield in white, shown on a dark green background

One color, white

The same cut-out design in white, for dark shirts. The print shop can also swap in any ink color you like.

Which format? Send the SVG or PDF if the shop will take it. Both are vector files, so they print sharp at any size. The PNG is 12 inches tall at 300 dpi, for websites that only accept an image upload. All of them have a transparent background, so there’s no box around the shield.

Tips for Working with a Print Shop

  • Ask for a proof (a mockup of your shirt) before you pay, and check the size and placement on it.
  • Size: a left-chest logo is usually 3½ to 4 inches wide, and a full front is usually 10 to 12 inches tall. The shield is taller than it is wide, so give the shop a height as well as a width.
  • Ink color: the one-color logo works in any single ink. Try pine green on a sand-colored shirt, white on forest green or navy, or black on heather gray.
  • Embroidery: the shop will convert the logo into stitches, which is called digitizing and sometimes costs a one-time fee. The pine needles and the loon are fine details, so ask to see a stitched sample before they run a whole order of small hat logos.
  • Adding a name: the logo doesn’t include lettering. If you want “Little Sand Bay Villas” or “Little Sand Lake” on the shirt, the shop can set it in a typeface of your choice.

Where to Get It Printed

Any local screen printer or embroidery shop can work from these files. So can the online custom-apparel sites that let you upload artwork.

Going In Together

Screen printing gets cheaper per shirt the more you order, and most shops have a minimum. If you’re planning an order, check whether other owners want in, so everyone gets a better price.
