Beach Groomer
The weed roller in front of the sand beach, and the DNR permit that covers it.
The association runs an automated aquatic plant control device — a beach groomer, or weed roller — along the shoreline in front of the sand beach. It keeps the swimming area clear of weeds and muck.
Minnesota requires a permit for this. The association holds an Aquatic Plant Management permit from the Minnesota DNR, renewed every year before the season.
The permitted area
80 feet along the shoreline, extending 40 feet out into the lake, centered on the sand beach. The red outline below is the treatment area as submitted to the DNR.

The base drawing is the association’s First Amended CIC Plat.
